2 Days

Following the success of the previous course we are delighted to announce our third London Neuromonitoring and Mapping International Course which will attract individuals from a variety of specialities including neurosurgeons, neurophysiologists, neurologists, professionals in neuromonitoring, general practitioners, anaesthetists, nurses, researchers and those with an interest in intraoperative neuromonitoring and brain mapping.

The London Neuromonitoring and Mapping International Course is a two-day course. It provides the attendees with a unique approach whereby both the neurophysiologist and the neurosurgeon deliver the teaching side-by- side giving a realistic environment and extensive knowledge into the daily workings of the operating theatre.

The first day (Basic Course) will provide delegates with knowledge on the principles of intraoperative neuromonitoring and brain and spinal cord mapping. The neurophysiological principles and the clinical interpretation of MEPs, SSEPs, D-WAVES, VEPs, EEG and EcoG will be analised. Principles and techniques of direct electrical stimulation for brain and spinal cord mapping will be discussed. The setup for intraoperative neuromonitoring will be shown and hands-on demonstrations with the intraoperative neuromonitoring equipment will be available. Anaesthetic considerations for intraoperative neuromonitoring will be also discussed.

The second day (Advanced Course) will demonstrate how to perform intraoperative neuromonitoring and direct mapping in Spine Surgery, Brainstem Surgery and Brain Surgery. Each section will include the anatomy, the physiology and the pathophysiology and the different intraoperative neuromonitoring techniques necessary to tailor neurophysiological strategies to each patient. Case studies will be shown and hands-on demonstration on different intraoperative neuromonitoring equipment will be available.

The advanced course will also cover cortical and sub-cortical brain mapping techniques for motor, language and higher order functions and their correlation with the extra-operative mapping with Transmagnetic Stimulation. We are certain that the social opportunities in London and the highly educational content of the course will make your experience unforgettable and truly worthwhile.
